8 STD Forks

There are two standards: 8 Standard (STD) and 12 Standard (STD). The numbers 8 and 12 refer to the diameter of the axle used, meaning either 8 mm or 12 mm.

Why a 12 mm axle? A larger diameter means a stronger and more robust system. The 12 STD system is primarily about wheels, but to ensure compatibility, forks and decks must also be designed to fit this system.

Most wheels use an 8 mm axle, meaning that most forks and decks are only compatible with the 8 STD system. In this subcategory, you will find forks that are compatible with 8 STD wheels.
However, things are not always that simple, and some forks in this subcategory may also be found in the 12 STD subcategory. Simply put, some forks are compatible with both 8 STD and 12 STD wheels.

When choosing a fork, please also pay attention to wheel width. Wheels come in different widths, so make sure the one you choose is compatible with your fork.
