How does it ride?
The Snow Scoot is a combination of a freestyle scooter and a snowboard. Just like on skis or a snowboard, you can steer and adjust your speed on a snow scoot by shifting your weight, and you can also change direction using the handlebars.
How do I stop?
You can slow down or stop by braking with one foot. Alternatively, you can "carve a line" just like in skiing or snowboarding. For a quick stop, push the rear deck outwards (for experienced riders).
How do I get on the chairlift?
When the chairlift approaches, place the snow scoot directly in front of you. As the lift begins to lift you, place the handlebars on your lap and let the scoot hang underneath you. Then, cross your legs and ankles around the front part of the snow scoot. The snow scoot is small and light, so it’s nothing complicated.
Can I ride in the snowpark?
With a snow scoot, it is possible to ride in any park where ski resorts allow you (half-pipe, kickers, rails, boxes, etc.). Always ride safely so you don't break your own or someone else's bones!
What shoes should I wear?
Any. You can use any hiking boots, snowboard boots, etc.
How to ride safely?
HAVE A PLAN
Every time you ride in the park, make a plan for every obstacle you want to use. Your speed, approach, and takeoff will directly influence the execution of the trick.
LOOK BEFORE YOU LEAP
Once you're in the air, it's already too late. You must look around before you jump. Once you land, clear the landing area.
DON'T OVERDO IT (RIGHT FROM THE START)
Start slowly and improve over time.
RESPECT BEGETS RESPECT
Can I put wheels on the snow scoot?
You cannot. The snow scoot is specially designed for use only with skis and built to withstand high stress on individual parts of the scoot. Not only the construction of the scoot but also the skis themselves are adapted for this.
What about maintenance?
Just like with freestyle scooters:
- check the condition of the scoot before every ride
- check and tighten all bolts and screws
- the headset should be free of play and turn freely
We recommend well-sharpened ski edges and choosing the right wax according to conditions and snow state.
How do I make an emergency stop?
Since your feet are not attached to the scoot in any way, you can always put your feet down or jump off and abandon your machine in critical situations :).
